Gourmet Coffee

There doesn’t really seem to be an exact definition of what “gourmet coffee” is. Many types of coffee are considered gourmet, and some of them are very good. But it seems that even the cheap, prepared coffee brands are coming out with “gourmet” products. So how can you determine if a coffee really is gourmet?

Well, since there are no strict guidelines on what can and cannot be considered “gourmet” you can’t really pinpoint it. But generally gourmet foods are not readily available. You can’t generally pick up gourmet coffee in your local grocery store without paying a lot of money.

True gourmet coffee is never pre-ground, because once the beans are ground, they start losing their flavor. Also, coffee that is gourmet is generally only made in small amounts so that all of it is as delicious as it possibly can be. You will pay more for a gourmet beverage, but it is well worth the wonderful aroma and taste.
